If for some reason you can't find the error, don't worry: simply copy your backup copy of the plist file back into the correct folder and you'll be as good as gold again DON'T FREAK OUT! Simply open the plist file again and check your entries. ![]() your image file is in an incorrect format, your icon numbering doesn't match in both keys you've created etc. If you start MainStage and the "Open concert" GUI has fluoro green bits in it and then MainStage crashes when opening a concert, this means you've made a mistake somewhere in your editing of the plist i.e. You can probably even create your own category but I haven't tried this yet. You can then start MainStage and your images should now be available to use in the category you chose. Save the plist file and exit the folders. As with the image definition key in step 6a, I simply copied/pasted an existing entry and changed the number at the end of the string.ħ. the "0003" in bold) MUST be the same number as the first number listed in the Image Definition Key you created in step 6a. The image name MUST be the same as the text in italics i.e. I simply copied/pasted an existing entry and then changed the bold and italic text to match my images. ![]() Each entry must be in the format below and it is the text in bold and italic that needs to be edited for each custom image. The entries in this section of the plist define each image you wish to add. IMAGE DEFINITION KEY: do a search of the plist file for this entry: "InstrumentIcons" (without the quotes). One is for the image definition and the other is for the icon category you wish to add your icon toĦa. 2 entries must be made in this plist file for each custom image you add. IMPORTANT: Make a backup of the "ist" file because you're going to be editing this fileĥ. Copy your custom images into the "Resources" folder. Open these folders in this order Contents\Frameworks\Resourcesģ. Right-click on the MainStage 3 application and select "Show Package Contents"Ģ. ![]() Do this at your own risk and I strongly suggest you make backup copies of the MainStage application and the "ist" file I mention below just to make sure you're covered in case something goes really wrong.ġ. I've worked out how to do this but it's pretty involved.
